Jhus Canyon Construction installed the new stove pipe and chimney. You no longer have
to open the windows after lighting the fire! The trick to keeping the house warm is to get a
good fire going, spin the damper almost closed and let the fire die down to a good bed of
coals. Add one large or two smaller pieces of wood, open the damper just enough to catch
the wood on fire, and spin the damper almost closed and let the wood turn into coals. We
have had guests that lit the fire one time and kept a bed of coals going for 5 days - and the
coals were warm enough to light a fire two days after they left!
